Chocolate Avocado Mousse Recipe

Happy Friday, friends!

There have been a few bold statements about this dessert being thrown around at my house lately, my favorite being “this is THE BEST vegan dessert of all time!” Because, truly, I think it is too! Equal parts creamy, delicious, rich, not too sweet, and easy to change up based on your mood and season-basically it’s hard to go wrong with the decision to make this. It also is super impressive to most dinner guests, so maybe don’t tell them what it is until they’ve licked their bowl-best reactions ever! This recipe is also super simple and a great one to have a child in the kitchen help you!

That’s enough talking it up, let’s get to the nitty gritty!

Yield: 2-4 servings Time: 10 minutes

2 Large Ripe Avocados/3-4 Small

1/4 C Almond Milk/Coconut Milk/Plant Milk

1/2 C Maple Syrup/Adjust to taste starting with less if you want it not as sweet

1/2 C Dark Cocoa Powder

Pinch of sea salt

Large Handful Chocolate Chips (I use Enjoy Life for dairy free)

2 TSP Vanilla Extract

Any toppings you want! I love raspberries or any type or berry, coconut flakes, and more chocolate chips. Orange is also good so you can add some zest in the mix and top it with slices. Nuts, peanut butter, banana, you really can NOT go wrong!

Pit and scrape the ripe avocado into a food processor or blender. Add cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, sea salt, and handful of chocolate chips. Pulse or blend until smooth and combined. Give it a taste and add anything else you feel it may need more of! Dish into bowls (should be two large servings or four smaller servings), and add your toppings. Matt and I love to place it in the freezer while we eat dinner and it is super good slightly frozen.

There you have it!

Tag me on social media and let me know if you make this and what kind of combo you tried! I can’t wait to see all the creative toppings!
